Nov. 29th, 2012 02:26 pmSo we've gone from one extreme to the other. The first pic is of the racecourse at York - the Knavesmire - under rather a lot of water bearing in mind IT'S NOWHERE NEAR A RIVER. The second one is of a place called Huntcliff a bit further north and it's one of those fab ones with the rain blowing upwards. Then today we woke up to the bottom pics - lots of frost and sunshine. Now if it would like to stay like this I'd be happy. I spent ages stressing about black ice last night - you know how I feel about black ice and the possibility of slipping - but luckily, other than a few little patches, the paths had dried so I was able to stride out relatively confidently. Gave my new 'fur' jacket its first outing, the weather was just perfect for it. Other people call it a fur; I prefer to call it by its true name - a polyester.

BTW, I do realise that the weather we're having is nothing compared to that suffered by a lot of people, but it's still pretty extreme in its own reserved and British way. And the sun's very pretty.
